  • Sights and Sounds from our Campaign Kickoff

Last Friday, our campaign officially launched in Midtown Atlanta. Surrounded by family, friends, and supporters, I was proud to say that I am officially running for City Council to make it easier to buy a home, build safe streets, and empower neighborhoods. As I said in the speech, “this city has given me and my family everything. And I owe a debt to the city that I can never possibly repay.”

See photos below of the campaign launch event, and watch a video of the full speech recorded by a supporter.

ATLANTA, GA – Jacob Chambers, a software engineer and Midtown resident, announced today his candidacy for District 2’s seat on the Atlanta City Council. Chambers, a community leader known for his advocacy on issues such as housing affordability, transportation safety, and livable neighborhoods, is running to bring a pragmatic, problem-solving mindset to the issues facing Atlanta.

“Atlanta is the greatest city on Earth, but we face significant challenges in the twenty-first century,” Chambers said. “I’m running because the issues our city faces are only growing deeper and I care too much about our city to sit on the sidelines.”

A proud Georgia Tech graduate, Chambers has deep family roots in the district dating back more than seventy years. As a community activist involved with local non-profits, he has seen first-hand the impact of rising costs, dangerous streets, and struggling transit systems.

“We are going to make it easier to buy a home. We are going to make our streets safer,” Chambers continued. “Our task has been set before us, and I stand ready to play my part. We can build Atlanta’s future together, and the work starts today.”
